We understand that planning your stay involves many details, so we've compiled a comprehensive list of Frequently Asked Questions to help you quickly find the information you need about your stay at our Lazy Monkey hostel in Zadar.

Check ins & misc
  • 1. When can I check in?
    You may check in from 2pm on the day of your booking. You can also check in at any time during reception hours or thereafter. If arriving after 6pm (reception closing time) we will leave entry information via an email and an envelope with your name on it will be waiting for you upon your arrival. Super easy check in procedure!
  • 2. How can I pay for my stay?
    You can pay for your stay upon arrival by cash or card.
  • 3. Where is the nearest ATM?
    The nearest ATMs are at the main bus station. We advise you to use ATMs of our legitimate banks such as OTP, PBZ or Raiffeisen bank as they will take the least amount of commission.
  • 4. Can I switch beds?
    If there are beds available upon your arrival, we will let you select a bed. Once you have chosen, there is no moving beds allowed (except for possible health reasons). If you would like to switch beds, you MUST let reception know before moving, our system is organized and we must properly assign beds to late arrivals.
  • 5. Can I wash my laundry here?
    Yes, we have a laundry service at the hostel. You can bring your laundry to us and we will wash and dry for you. The process takes 24 hours, once your laundry is cleaned, you can pick it up from reception. The cost is €6 per load, up to 5 kg.
  • 6. Do you have towels?
    We have both bath and beach towels. They are 1€ for rent each.
  • 7. Can I print something here?
    You can send us the document that you need to print to our official email address lazymonkeyhostel@gmail.com, and we will print it out for you on the reception.
  • 8. What can I do in Zadar?
    If you are not sure what to do in Zadar, you can use our city map that we give you at the check in as a guide. There is a list of main attractions, museums, restaurants, some cool spots to hang out in and directions how to get to the Old Town and nearest beaches. While in Zadar you can hop on to one of the ferries and visit nearby islands or hop on one of the local buses and visit nearby towns, such as Nin. Timetables for ferries and buses are on the panel by the reception.
  • 9. Do you guys have tours from the hostel?
    We offer transfers to Plitvice & Krka national park. For more details, ask reception staff.
  • 10. How can I get to Plitvice lakes?
    If you want to visit Plitvice lakes, we can arrange for you a transfer service with a local company. If you want to get there by yourself you must book entrance tickets 2 days in advance and buy the bus tickets online (you can check out Getbybus website ).
  • 11. Where is the closest place to get food?
    The closest place to get food is the a small store just 50 meters from the hostel. There is also a big supermarket by the main bus station. If you don't feel like cooking, you can grab some food at the main bus station in one of the sandwich bars or at Tequila Sunrise bar by the beach.
  • 12. How can i get to... Split, Novalja, Mostar, etc...
    You can google bus schedules, readily available online (Getbybus website or Zadar/Split/Zagreb main bus stations official websites).
  • 13. Do you take cards at the bar?
    We do not take cards at the bar, cash only.
  • 14. Where can I put my towel/clothes to dry?
    You can put your clothes/towels to dry on the racks provided, located by room 4 (outside to the right).
  • 15. What to do when it's raining?
    On the rainy days you can hang out in our hostel and play board games, cards, have a movie night or you can go to the cinema which is called Cinestar or to one of the museums recommended on our map.
  • 16. Can I get a taxi to pick us up at the airport?
    Yes, we have an affiliate taxi service that is a cost of 32 Euros and will be waiting for you with your booking name at the exit of the airport. We do require your booking name, flight arrival number, departure airport and arrival time. There is no problem if your flight is delayed, the taxi works off the departures/arrivals board.
Check outs
  • 1. When is the check out?
    Check out time is by 11 am.
  • 2. Can I check out before 9 am?
    You can check out before reception opening time, but keep in mind to settle your balance the day before, if you haven't already paid upon your arrival. You can leave your room key in the Key Deposit Box by the main lobby door.
  • 1 3. What do I need to do for the check out?
    Before checking out, please strip the top and bottom sheet and pillow case from the bed and put them in the designated baskets by the reception, and bring the room key back.
  • 4. Where do I put my sheets?
    You can put your sheets in the designated baskets by the reception.
  • 5. What should I do with the blanket?
    Blankets provided on the beds, stay on the bed.
  • 6. Can I leave the lugagge with you after I check out?
    You can leave your luggage in the main lobby area, by the reception.
  • 7. Can I still use the bathrooms after I check out?
    You can still use all the facilities, including the bathrooms and kitchen too.
  • 8. What's the best way to go to the airport?
    We can arrange a transfer for you from the hostel to the airport, or you can take a shuttle bus from the main bus station (timetable is on the panel by the bar).
  • 9. Can I get a taxi to the airport?
    We can arrange for you a transfer taxi to the airport. The cost is 32 Euros. We do require some advanced notice. For all info you can speak to the reception.
  • 10. Can I cancel my booking?
    This property has 2 day cancellation policy. All booking cancellation must be made 48 hours before the arrival date by email to the property directly. Failure to cancel within this time will result in a cancellation charge equal to the first night of your stay.
